FediForum is spawning a number of new projects and communities, attendees are finding each other in unconference sessions of mutual interest, and they often decide to continue the conversation. Here are the ones we know of! Feel free to connect with them.

What initiative will you start or join at the next FediForum? 😀 An entirely new world of social media is being built out, and there are plenty of people at FediForum who are just as motivated as you are to get things done!

Fediverse Developer Network:
A community of Fediverse developers that discusses subjects of mutual interest, to learn from and support each other.
The Developer Network started with this session at the inaugural FediForum.
Website: fedidevs.org with links to live meetings and discussion groups.
Social Web Incubator Community Group (SocialCG, or SWICG) of the World-Wide-Web Consortium (W3C):
The home of the ActivityPub and ActivityStreams standards, and several initiatives to advance them.
SocialCG is much older than FediForum. However, it had not had any meetings for a number of years until this joint session at the inaugural FediForum, which featured an all-time record for SocialCG meeting attendance and caused regular meetings to be restarted, so we list it here.
Website: www.w3.org/community/socialcg with links to reports and mailing list.
Fediverse marketing community:
A Matrix discussion group for people discussing how to explain the Fediverse, and articulate its value to non-technical audiences. Started some time after the inaugural FediForum.
Matrix discussion group: fediverse-marketing:matrix.org
Threadiverse Working Group:
A group of developers building “Reddit-like” Fediverse software, to work on improving their interoperability through shared conventions and standards.
The Threadiverse Working Group started with this session at FediForum March 2024.
