travisfw: JE’s concept: Identity Page: like a website on a domain name, but … self sovereign? (is that term, “self sovereign” not generic any more and overloaded?)
PM: Does AT Protocol have some additional feature as an ID provider, beyond those of Google, etc
LH: Nothing new, it has not been explored yet
JMK: I want to express my incredible thanks for what you do. I find your holistic view fantastic. I do not know anyone who has a broad a view as you. Curious, if you have a thought over registrations of AT Protocol/Activity Pub. There is a big different.
LH: I think it had a lot to do with a fluke in time. In Fall 2024 people were more on Blueskey than on Mastodon. What you are seeing now is that Bsky’s culture has changed so many times in a year. BSky struggles with culture. Their user numbers have been declined for the last 3 or 4 months.
JMK: I think the problem is that Bluesky had a long closed beta service.
Anon: Support for Group Collaboration — can you speak about that
LH: People want this to happen, but it does not happen. I m not really sure why. I hope that Forums are the better direction for this. There is an argument for Groups and we do have funding. But it has not happened
Anon: do you see it sticking around? I still can’t make up my mind whether it will just collapse
LH: I see it sticking around short term. After a year I am not sure. They have just had a big cash injection ($700m) which is why I think they will be here for now.
