- Tim Erickson (@stpaultim@fosstodon.org)
Questions: (To get started)
- Many of us came to Mastodon specifically looking for an alternative to Twitter. But, the Fediverse is much more. What should we explore next?
- What tools or resources are most helpful?
- How do folks manage participation on different Mastodon platforms?
- How can we self-govern across the fediverse? How to avoid the dangers inherent as the mainstream gets interested and starts to lean heavily
Key points:
- Apps - one participant recommended these IOS apps.
- Mona (excellent app in beta, but works great)
- Ice Cubes
- Ivory
- Looking for feedback on NextCloud possibly as a light weight option to host a personal account.
- Comparison of Masto Apps https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1De5KRwqMIdwEryfoeBLARgxF7QgKkeOQBCilKuIdAXE/edit?usp=sharing
- Peertube - One participant gave a fairly detailed discussion
- Very different/interesting module as compared to Mastodon.
- You probably have to get permission to join an instance.
Some tools worth exploring

During this meeting we struggled a bit with a simple vocabulary that made sense to describe the Fediverse to folks that don’t fully understand it.
