What did students think when introducing the Fediverse
A lot of concern that people would need to leave their own social media networks
Losing income from Instagram
Speaking to students not on the SU council about the Fediverse
There needs to be choice, the Frdivese wasn’t even an option in the past
Speaking to the SU marketing there was a ear willing to listen and they got it
Its about compacity and time
Mastodon link at the top right of the SU site
Never mentioning facism, likely for legal reasons
Would Shef SU go back now Olivia is no longer a student
- The policy stays in effect for 3 years
What could the Fediverse do to help in the past, now and in the future
- Worries about the UK, we need to be thinking more about digital soverigty
Could the Fediverse and the SU’s poliy be a selling point in the future?
- Not so much but… We need things like D-day (following Germany and the Netherlands)
